Through our move process, we help pare down belongings to more quickly and easily get seniors moved and settled into independent living, assisted living, and memory care in senior communities. We also move seniors into smaller homes and apartments. 

From initial consultation to cleanup and setup after your move, our crew is with you every step of the way to ensure as seamless a transition to your new surroundings as possible.

Planning Your Move

Brilliant Moves provides a free, in-person consultation to get an idea of the size and scope of the move in question. From there, we present an estimate detailing the cost of the move, factoring in time, materials, and the moving crew.

Free Consultation

Many seniors who move end up in a smaller place—an apartment or senior living community—and do not have room for all the things they want to take with them. Our Brilliant Moves crew provides support, techniques, and tips to help make the downsizing process an easier one.

Downsizing

Our Brilliant Moves crew will arrive with all the necessary packing materials. We will typically spend a day or two sorting and carefully packing up your belongings, depending on the size and scope of the move. We label each box with a location (kitchen, living room, etc.) and a description of its contents.

Sorting & Packing

To help make the transition an easier one, Brilliant Moves will measure existing furniture as well as rooms in the new home. We then develop a floor plan to determine what furniture will fit and where. Our crew also disconnects telephones, televisions, and electronics and will reconnect them in your new home. Account set-up and activation of TV, internet, and phone services is the responsibility of the client. The physical move is performed by a third-party mover, though Brilliant Moves schedules and oversees the entire process and coordinates moving details with your new community.

Managing Your Move

Some of the stress of moving comes from unpacking and organizing the new space. Brilliant Moves takes care of all of that. For a typical move, we get your new home set up in one day. We put away your kitchen items, make your bed, set up your bathroom, hang your clothes, and more. Our crew also hangs pictures, mirrors, clocks, and televisions and will reconnect your electronic devices. We place everything where it works for you, so you can settle in quickly and easily. 

Unpacking and Organizing

We pay attention to the little details that make a place feel like home. Before we hang pictures, we make sure your furniture is precisely where you want it. We welcome your input on this and on hanging pictures, which we think is a fun part of the move because it brings everything together. We offer ideas for picture arrangements and placement to make it easy for you, and also hang mirrors, clocks, TVs and other items.
